The uniform 1/8″ (3.2 mm) spherical bead size provides a high surface area for effective moisture adsorption and consistent packing throughout the desiccant bed. With a typical surface area of 350 m²/g, this material provides extensive internal surface area for moisture removal.
The beads are manufactured for durability as well as adsorption performance, with a typical 30 lb (14 kg) crush strength and only 0.1% abrasion loss. These characteristics help reduce bead breakdown and the formation of desiccant fines during normal operation.
