Product Description
Maintain clean, dry compressed air with high-quality Made in USA 3/16″ (4.7 mm) activated alumina desiccant designed for compressed-air dryers and industrial drying applications.
This highly porous drying media adsorbs moisture from compressed air and gas streams to help support reliable dryer performance and protect downstream equipment from moisture-related problems.
The uniform 3/16″ (4.7 mm) spherical bead size offers a strong balance of adsorption surface area, mechanical strength, and airflow characteristics. With a typical surface area of 340 m²/g, the material provides extensive internal surface area for effective moisture adsorption.
The larger bead size also provides increased mechanical strength compared with smaller activated alumina beads. A typical 55 lb (25 kg) crush strength and only 0.1% abrasion loss help resist bead breakdown and minimize the formation of desiccant fines during normal operation.
Supplied in a convenient 50 lb bag, this activated alumina is well suited for scheduled dryer maintenance, desiccant replacement, and compatible OEM applications requiring 3/16″ activated alumina media.
Why Choose This Activated Alumina?
Made in the USA
Manufactured domestically for consistent material quality and dependable supply.
Effective Moisture Adsorption
A typical surface area of 340 m²/g and pore volume of 0.5 cc/g provide a highly porous structure for moisture adsorption.
Uniform 3/16″ (4.7 mm) Beads
Consistent spherical bead sizing promotes uniform bed packing and dependable airflow through the desiccant media.
High Mechanical Strength
Typical 55 lb (25 kg) crush strength helps the beads withstand loading, handling, and repeated dryer operating cycles.
Low Abrasion
A typical abrasion loss of only 0.1 wt% helps reduce dust and desiccant fines that can migrate downstream.
High Alumina Content
Typical composition contains 92.7% Al2O3, providing the activated alumina structure responsible for moisture adsorption.
Typical Applications
- Regenerative compressed-air dryers
- Heatless and heated desiccant dryers
- Industrial air and gas drying systems
- Dryer desiccant change-outs
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Compatible OEM desiccant replacement applications
